February 9, 1916

Feb.9. About 10 H.E. shells round us at 9am.
and plenty of splinters flying around. One R.E.
man was hit just outside our court[yard].
In aft. a dummy battery of ours behind
A.D.S. very vigorously shelled – could see shells
bursting in pits and beams and sand bags flying
about – Bosh shooting very well and blew all
our dummies to pieces.
Snow in morning.
