June 30, 1916

June 30. Being shelled most of the day. My sick parade
scattered and took refuge in cellar.

One shell got a party of R.E. causing 31 casualties
and 16 killed. Exciting work going up to meals
in mess and Bosch seemed to be chasing one up
the street with H.E. shells – got one in garden
at back of mess.
