Aug 25. Went into trenches between Loos and Hohenzollern Redoubt. Marched across a very dreary flat plane with great slag-heaps from mines on it’s edges – then entered a very long and deep communication trench which led us up through village of Loos to the salient where we found good trenches and fair dug-outs.
