Jan.13. Fusiliers to make a raid on Bosh
tonight, so went up to ‘Sniper’s Square’ and
established an aid-post there. Our party of 50
left about 10.p.m. with blackened faces and hands
and got as far as the German wire, but did not get
into their trenches; we had five wounded
who got back to us about 1.a.m. including
the officer in command who was badly injured
by a bomb. Got back to breakfast at
7.30. Bosh shelling us.
To Souastre with Regiment in evening after
relief.
