April 2. To report to 48th F.A. for duty at La Souich
about 4 miles away. Arrive in afternoon and get
a billet with presbyterian padre [close to billet]
Col. Watson in command a great improvement
on Col. Lyon of the 50th F.A. A very decent
crowd [in] the mess and bridge in evenings.
