August 15, 1916

Aug 15. Relieved by Black Watch at 5 p.m. and start
back for Becourt Wood. Arrived 9 p.m. Raining hard
and find [we] are to bivouac with transport on hill
behind wood.

[‘Transport’ – refers to the Transport Lines east of Albert carrying everything up to the front lines. To bivouac with ‘transport’ would be rather like ‘camping’ in a target area. The target being the Transport Lines.]
