Aug 18. March to Frechencourt 1 1/2 miles and entrain at 3 p.m.
Arrive Longpré 8 p.m. and march to Airaines 6 miles;
arrived at 12 p.m. Found H.Q. billet in a very
superior home – roused inhabitants with difficulty
and mess waiters having unpacked and carved on the
pavement proceeded to serve dinner through the
window. Later got my billet in a brewery
managers house – very comfortable.
