December 25, 1915

Sunday 25. Xmas day – my batman very drunk by
8 a.m. and comatose by 9.am and put to bed.
Walked in wood with padre after lunch.

five o’clock concert and entertainment until 8. seemed
to go off all right. 8 p.m. Xmas dinner – Turkey –
plum pudding etc. Champagne – Port – Liquors.
In the middle of dinner very drunked (?) carol party from
another Hospital arrived and serenaded us with snaps of
music played on weird prehistoric instruments.
