Friday 3rd. Left our kits in the station and crossing bridge of the Seine made our way to Hotel Angleterre on the quay – where we got a wash and shave (one basin to about twenty men) and breakfast. Then to interview D.D.M.S. who sent me to No.6 General Hospital (Col. Archer) – also Heathcote with me.
We picked up our kit and taxied out to hospital which lies away from town on edge of pine woods beyond race course. There are six or seven hospitals – hutted or tented lying together forming a small village by themselves and all round camps for infantry and remount depots.
Got a hut which shared with H. Quite comfortable but rather draughty.
