Sat 4th. Given wards 17 + 18 mixed minor surgery and medical and half empty. Have to be in wards or in operating theatre from 9 – 12-30 very little to do beyond censoring letters. Quite good mess room
and anteroom with plenty of papers in it and a few comfortable chairs. Officers quarters form three sides of a square. Mess room – anti and kitchens one side and sleeping quarters on the other two.

After tea in afternoon for a walk with H. and Capt. Ross. Find I am also posted to no.2 base infantry depot for camp duties, whatever they may be.

Got three ‘biscuits’ for bed which greatly improved thereby.
