December 6, 1915

Monday 6 – Walked into Rouen in afternoon and passed a number new troops coming out to camps. Cathedral uninteresting inside – but outside very fine with a trelliswork spire and much fine carving – There are a number of old streets with timbered houses and projecting upper stories. On way home came along the quay and saw hospital ship St.Denys [St.Dennis] in the river waiting to be loaded.

After dinner played bridge Col. Archer (a very keen player) for partner.
