March 18, 1916

March 18. March to Haute-Visée – very pleasant bright
day; passed through Doullens – then up a steep
hill to Ht. Visée which is on very high ground
with a lovely view. A small village on main
road. H.Q. in a farmhouse owned by
a ‘gentleman farmer’ – a merchant of Lille
who goes in for pony breeding and keeps a
small pack of harriers – comfortable quarters,
share bedroom with Patterson and Macfarlane.
Mess room very small.
Got a little touch of Sciatica.
