Monday Nov. 29. Arrived on four days leave on Saturday, and got wire to return to camp at Grantham Monday. Orders for foreign service. Arrived at Camp Grantham (Belton Park) at 4.30. to find S and B just starting for London en route for Southampton, and my batman packing my kit. Completed packing had tea and caught 6.30 for Kings X. Arrived then got, with some difficulty hansom and followed S and B to Bonnington Hotel Southampton Row where they had gone + taken room for me.

Got dinner there – and then after short walk to bed. Hotel quite good of temperance variety.
